My name is Laura Panella, I am a Parma licensed tour guide, the owner of a licensed travel agency/tour operator and licensed tour leader/manager and I’ve been doing food tours in Parma since 2008, showing the production of our typical products. I was born in Parma in 1980 and I have always lived here for all my life, apart from some travels abroad to practice the languages and meet new people and cultures. I have a Master’s degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Parma and I have the international certificates C2 Cambridge Proficiency in English (Cambridge University), C1 ZMP in German (Goethe Institut) and B2 DELF in French (Alliance française).
I have specialized in Parma typical products and I am proud to be a Parma resident, having known and tasted these products since my childhood. These products are healthy and good for people of all ages. Parma is also the headquarters of big and important factories such as Barilla (the biggest pasta producer in the world) and it is also the headquarters of EFSA (European Food Safety Authority).
According to the European Union, the most imitated products in the world are Parmigiano-Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar and Parma ham, that’s why this food tour is so informative on how to choose the right products. And it’s also fun! You will see fantastic rooms with thousands of products in the real factories!
